Description

Fluid art is not made by adding water to acrylic. Poured water-thinned paint dries into a cracked, chalky mess, because the binder that holds the film together has been diluted away. Pouring medium is what makes the technique possible: it thins colour to a pourable consistency while adding binder, so the paint spreads as a continuous sheet and dries as one intact film.

That is the whole reason this bottle exists rather than being a thinner version of a general medium. In a pour, medium usually outweighs paint by a wide margin, which means the medium's own properties decide how the finished surface behaves — whether the colours hold their separation, how the poured layer levels, and whether it survives drying.

The bottle stands out on the shelf: rather than the plain coloured bands of the rest of the Mont Marte Premium range, it carries a dark fluid-art scene with a purple ring across the label. The wording is Acrylic Pouring Medium, Premium, with Médium de Coulage Acrylique and Pintura Acrílica para Arte Fluido beneath, and the volume printed on the purple flash as 240mL, 8.11 US fl.oz. Inside, the medium is milky white, which is normal and not a sign of paint being present.

It is also the value buy of our mediums shelf. Rs. 1,250 for 240 mL works out to Rs. 5.21 per millilitre — the cheapest of every Mont Marte bottle we stock apart from the 500 mL Black Gesso. That matters here more than anywhere else, because pouring consumes medium in quantities no other technique does. Our Acrylic Flow Medium, which people often buy for pouring by mistake, is Rs. 6.00 per millilitre and is not the product for this job.

It suits acrylic painters and fluid-art hobbyists from about 12 years up. Mix it with acrylic colour in a cup, pour onto a prepared surface, and let it level. Cover your workspace before starting — a pour goes over the edges by design.

Why this product is worth considering

Made for Pouring

Thins colour to a pourable sheet while adding binder, which is what water cannot do and why water-thinned pours crack.

Cheapest Fluid Medium

Rs. 5.21 per mL — the best value bottle on our Mont Marte shelf apart from the 500 mL black gesso.

Sized for the Technique

Pouring uses far more medium than paint, so 240 mL is a working quantity rather than a sample.

FAQs

Why can't I just add water for acrylic pouring?

Water dilutes the binder that holds the paint film together, so a heavily watered pour tends to crack or dry chalky. Acrylic Pouring Medium thins the colour while adding binder, which is what keeps a poured layer intact as it dries.

How much Acrylic Pouring Medium do I mix with paint?

In a pour the medium usually makes up most of the mix rather than a small addition, which is why a 240 mL bottle is a working quantity. Start with a small test cup and adjust until the mix ribbons off the stick smoothly.

Is Acrylic Pouring Medium the same as flow medium?

No, and it is the most common mix-up on this shelf. Flow medium improves how paint releases from a brush; Acrylic Pouring Medium is formulated for fluid art. It is also cheaper here at Rs. 5.21 per millilitre against Rs. 6.00.

Why does the medium look white in the bottle?

Acrylic Pouring Medium is milky white in the bottle and is not carrying pigment of its own. Judge the colour of a pour from the paint you mix into it rather than from how the medium looks poured out.

What surface should I pour onto?

A rigid, level surface holds a pour best, because a poured film needs to settle evenly rather than run to one side. Prime the surface first and raise it clear of your table, since Acrylic Pouring Medium is meant to run over the edges.

Do I need silicone oil as well?

Silicone oil is used by some pour artists to encourage cells to open in the surface, and we stock it separately. Acrylic Pouring Medium works on its own without it — the oil is an effect, not a requirement.

How long does a pour take to dry?

A poured layer is much thicker than a brushed one and takes correspondingly longer, so leave it undisturbed and level rather than working to a stated time. Dust settling on a wet pour cannot be brushed off later.

Can I pay cash on delivery for Acrylic Pouring Medium 240 mL in Pakistan?

Yes. Cash on Delivery is available across Pakistan, including Lahore, Karachi, Islamabad, Rawalpindi and many other cities.

How fast is delivery in Pakistan?

Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch. Delivery usually takes 3-5 working days in major Pakistani cities, depending on courier route and city.
