Buy Artist Canvas Boards, Watercolor Pads & Art Sheets Online in Pakistan
The substrate you choose decides whether paint sits vibrantly on the surface or bleeds, buckles and sinks into raw fibres. In Pakistan, artists and students are often sold generic cardboard panels or unprimed sheets with little technical guidance. Safencia stocks 103 artist canvas boards, round canvases, watercolor pads, sketchbooks, and specialty art surfaces from Rs. 40 to Rs. 7,900, categorized by their exact medium compatibility and weight.
Every substrate here is verified for its intended medium: triple-primed 100% cotton canvas boards that resist warping under heavy acrylic impasto and oil paint; cylinder mould-made 300gsm Canson and Arches watercolor pads that withstand heavy wet washes without cockling; and barrier-sized sketchbooks engineered to prevent alcohol marker bleed and oil haloing. Every product is photographed in detail, with real dimensions, GSM specifications, and sheet counts clearly stated.
Which canvas or art paper do you actually need?
Start from your painting medium and technique, never just the lowest price. A heavy wet watercolor wash destroys lightweight cartridge paper, and oil paints rot unprimed cotton. Choose the surface engineered for your medium below.
| What you are painting | The right surface | What to check first | Safencia examples |
|---|
| Acrylic or oil painting with impasto texture | Stretched canvas board or primed cotton roll | That it is triple gesso-primed so paint adheres without sinking into the backing | Artist Canvas Board, Black Artist Canvas Board, Primed Canvas Cloth Roll 1M |
| Wet watercolor washes and botanical painting | 300gsm cold-pressed or rough watercolor pad | Cotton content and paper weight (at least 250–300gsm) to prevent buckling | Canson Arches Watercolor Pad, Canson Montval Watercolor Pad, Canson Graduate Watercolor Pad |
| Graphite, charcoal, ink and pencil sketching | 120–160gsm fine grain drawing pad | Surface tooth — smooth for fine line details, medium grain for graphite shading | Canson Scholar Grain Sketchbook, Canson 1557 Drawing Pad, Aero Drawing Sketching Pad |
| Alcohol markers, anime and fashion illustration | 70–100gsm bleedproof marker layout paper | Solvent barrier coating that prevents ink feathering and bleeds onto next sheets | Canson XL Marker Paper Pad |
| Gouache, acrylic gouache, pastels and mixed media | 220–350gsm mass-dyed or sanded mixed media card | Double-sided texture and dark or toned paper for high-contrast highlights | Canson XL Dessin Noir Black Pad, Canson Graduate Grey Pad, Canson Mi-Teintes Touch Pastel Pad |
| Tabletop display, party favors, or desktop art | Mini canvas board with wooden easel stand | Includes a proportional wooden easel for immediate painting and display | Canvas Board with Wooden Stand, Mini 4x4 Canvas Painting Kit, Star Shaped Canvas Board |
If you paint in acrylics or oils
Choose a gesso-primed canvas board. Our boards range from 4x4" to 24x36" and feature 100% pure cotton pre-primed with acid-free titanium gesso over a rigid MDF core, so you can apply heavy impasto knife strokes without canvas flex or corner sagging.
If you do watercolor washes
Pick a 300gsm watercolor pad like Canson Montval or Arches 100% cotton. Heavyweight 300gsm paper absorbs wet-on-wet washes without cockling, and allows lifting and color correction that would tear ordinary cartridge paper.
If you work with markers or pastels
Use specialized marker and pastel pads. The Canson XL Marker pad features a barrier layer that stops alcohol bleed, while Mi-Teintes Touch features a micro-abrasive sanded coating that holds multiple layers of dry pastel.
If you need non-standard frame sizes
Buy the 1-meter primed canvas cloth roll. You can cut custom dimensions with fabric scissors and mount over wooden stretcher bars or DIY boards, sealed with acrylic gesso primer.

Canvas & Art Sheets FAQs
What is the price of canvas boards and art sheets in Pakistan?
Safencia's canvas and art sheet range runs from Rs. 40 to Rs. 7,900. Single butter paper sheets and small 4x4" canvas boards sit at the entry price point, medium-sized canvas boards and Canson sketchpads in the middle, and imported Arches 100% cotton pads and large canvas panels at the top. The current price is printed on every product card.
What is the difference between a stretched canvas board and a paper pad?
A stretched canvas board has 100% cotton fabric mounted over a rigid backing core, making it sturdy for heavy acrylic impasto and oil painting. A paper pad consists of spiral-bound or glued sheets designed for watercolors, sketching, markers, or mixed media studies that can be easily framed.
Do I need to prime Safencia canvas boards with gesso before painting?
No. All Safencia canvas boards and rolls are pre-primed with multiple coats of acid-free acrylic titanium gesso and are ready to paint immediately with oils, acrylics, or tempera.
Which paper weight (GSM) should I buy for watercolor painting?
We recommend at least 250gsm to 300gsm (140 lb) cold-pressed or rough paper for watercolor painting. Heavyweight 300gsm paper prevents buckling and warping under wet washes.
What sizes are available in canvas boards?
We offer 10 square and rectangular sizes from 4x4 inches up to 24x36 inches, 9 round canvas diameters from 4 to 20 inches, 5 star-shaped sizes, and tabletop easel sets.
What is marker layout paper and why is it special?
Marker layout paper (such as Canson XL Marker 70gsm) has a specialized solvent-barrier coating on the reverse that prevents alcohol marker ink from bleeding through to underlying sheets and feathering on the page.
Can I use oil paints on Chivalry and Canson oil paper pads?
Yes. Chivalry and Canson Figueras paper pads feature a specialized barrier primer that prevents linseed oil and mineral spirits from penetrating the paper fibres, preventing oil halos and brittleness.
Is Cash on Delivery available for canvas boards across Pakistan?
Yes. Safencia offers nationwide Cash on Delivery across Karachi, Lahore, Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Faisalabad, Peshawar, and all other cities. Orders are confirmed on WhatsApp before dispatch.
